Rendered.ai and RIT’s DIRS Lab to power unlimited synthetic data with advanced research simulation

The Digital Imaging and Remote Sensing Image Generation (DIRSIG™) model is a physics-driven synthetic image generation model developed by the Digital Imaging and Remote Sensing Laboratory at Rochester Institute of Technology. The DIRS Laboratory team is working with Rendered.ai to help enable approved customers to combine the power and capability of DIRSIG with Rendered.ai’s PaaS for collaborative, team-based synthetic data generation.

Rendered.ai was established to wrap the power of cloud-based processing and job management around physically accurate simulation for the purposes of generating synthetic Computer Vision (CV) data to help data scientists overcome the limitations of using real sensor data to train AI. The Rendered.ai platform does not rely on a specific simulation platform and is designed to be able to deploy multiple simulation platforms, scenario creation tools, and configuration to generate a wide range of synthetic 2D, video, and 3D CV content.

DIRSIG, developed by RIT’s DIRS Lab, is a leading simulation tool for multi-spectral, hyperspectral, RGB, lidar, and other forms of passive and active sensor data. Well known in government circles, DIRSIG is relied upon for innovation, experimentation, and testing by a wide range of US customers.

We are pleased to announce that we are collaborating with the DIRS Lab team to put the power of DIRSIG in the hands of eligible customers. Details of the licensing and availability are not yet being disclosed, but we invite you to come chat with us and the DIRS Lab team about the collaboration at GEOINT 2022, next week, in Aurora, CO.

Rendered.ai enables Synthetic Data Engineers to build custom channels that can then be configured in a web experience to generate large numbers of synthetic data jobs.
