Kallisto AI, a deep tech defense company pioneering deception systems for the era of autonomous warfare, has announced a partnership with Rendered.ai to expand its use of synthetic data for the validation of the Kallisto Shield system. Previously validated using visual-spectrum datasets, Kallisto AI will now leverage synthetic imagery generated by Rendered.ai’s team of experts to extend testing and training across the infrared (IR), thermal, multispectral, and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) bands.

Kallisto Shield represents a breakthrough in battlefield concealment. It is a modular, layered system designed to deceive AI-driven targeting algorithms and sensor fusion systems. By altering a vehicle’s electromagnetic signature, the Shield confuses autonomous drones and satellite surveillance systems that rely on computer vision and multi-modal detection pipelines. Unlike conventional camouflage that merely hides, Kallisto’s system actively manipulates how AI perceives an object — transforming a tank into “noise” in the eyes of machine intelligence.

Rendered.ai’s ability to rapidly custom-create physically accurate synthetic imagery in any computer vision modality gives Kallisto AI the ability to simulate diverse sensor environments and generate massive volumes of synthetic data that mirror real battlefield conditions. Using synthetic imagery from across the spectrum, Kallisto can now test the Shield’s resilience against cutting-edge detection pipelines — including YOLO, transformer-based models, and multi-modal fusion architectures — without the constraints, expense, or risk of collecting classified or combat data. By having the domain experts from Rendered.ai’s Synthetic Data as a Service (SDaaS) team generate, label, and iterate on synthetic datasets for them, Kallisto AI is able to access the scale of viable training data they need in just a matter of days to accelerate algorithmic validation and adversarial testing.

This partnership marks a strategic evolution for both companies. For Kallisto AI, expanding validation into the IR, thermal, multispectral, and SAR domains strengthens its claim that Kallisto Shield can provide full-spectrum protection — a necessity as modern ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems evolve into multi-sensor, AI-driven networks. For Rendered.ai, the collaboration underscores the role of synthetic data as an enabler of innovation in defense AI worldwide — not just for training autonomous systems, but for testing how to fool  them.
